On 8 October, the CIGRE Belgium Next Generation Network (NGN) had the opportunity to take part in a technical visit to the Fluvius Training Centre and the Pauwels Transformer factory in Mechelen.
At Fluvius, the NGN gained insights into the training of distribution system technicians and the company’s vision for the future of the Flemish energy system. In the afternoon, the visit to Pauwels Transformers offered a closer look at the different types of transformers and their manufacturing processes.
The technical visit allowed the NGN to gather unique insights in transformer innovations and the evolution of distribution networks.
