Next Generation Network

CIGRE Belgium NGN is part of the global CIGRE Next Generation Network, which offers a unique platform for the next generation of power system professionals. It provides young engineers, managers and researchers the opportunity to engage with a global network of like-minded individuals, and enables them to find their way in the electricity sector by connecting to others. The NGN facilitates professional development activities, and enables its members to learn from each other and experts in the field.

CIGRE Belgium NGN has three main objectives

1. To form a network of young professionals and academics in the power sector and facilitate networking with peers in the context of CIGRE

2. To lower the barrier for early career individuals to enter CIGRE, through facilitating and encouraging participation in CIGRE working groups

3. To offer young members a platform within CIGRE to showcase their work

Working Groups

CIGRE working groups (WGs) are formed to bundle the knowledge of several experts with the aim of facing technical challenges or addressing emerging topics in power systems.

Open calls for working groups can be found via this link.

The NGN offers its members a path to join the working groups and acts as an intermediary between NGN members and the Belgian National Committee. If you’re interested in joining a working group through the NGN, please send us an email at cigrebengn@gmail.com with your CV and the details of the WG you are interested in.
